Front silvered mirrors avoid the double reflections which you get with normal rear-silvered mirrors where light is reflected off the front surface of the glass as well as the silvered surface. Warning: Handle with care as they are susceptible to scratching although the silvering is protected by a vacuum deposited quartz coating.

3.5mm Glass Bead lenses as used in low-cost smartphone microscope project by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Use a 3D printer to make your own lens holder. The actual magnification will depend on the model of smartphone but expect around 80 X.These are sold as a pack of 25 beads (unsorted). Please note that not all of the beads are sufficiently spherical or unblemished to use as lenses but you will certainly get a reasonable number of useable lenses.

Are you looking for lenses for the Google Cardboard project?

The OPL31 and OPL32 lenses are the ones most people are buying for this type of device. These are small diameter lenses with 34mm and 43mm focal lengths respectively. As an alternative you might want to consider the larger OPL1001 which has a 50mm focal length and a 50mm diameter although you may need to modify the design of the cardboard holder.
